| Electro diagnostic
studies are used to help physicians diagnose disorders of the
neuromuscular system (muscles and nerves). An EMG machine is used to
perform electromyography and nerve conduction studies.
EMG studies may be helpful in diagnosing
and determining the severity of the common conditions including:
- Mononeuropathies like carpal tunnel
syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, and tarsal tunnel syndrome
- Brachial plexopathies, TOS
- Polyneuropathies - diabetic
neuropathies
